Relationship between leadership and innovation is a hot
topic in today’s competitive and changing business environment. According to
Ustun, Balli &
Balli, (2020) Leadership style has been recognized
as one of the most important factors influencing the relationship between
innovation and Organizational performance, because leaders have the authority
to set specific goals and encourage innovative initiatives from subordinates.

Sir Richard Branson is one of the most
successful and most influential persons in the world of business. He is known
in the world over for his significant contributions in the economy and
innovations. As per Branson statement leadership
style is rule breaker. “I never learned the rules in the first place. To change
the game is at the heart of what Virgin stands for, so the company culture has
always been: Don’t sweat it: rules were meant to be broken.” This is why many
people look up to him not only for his life lifestyle but also for being a
dynamic and symbolic entrepreneur with multi-colored ideas for ads, innovative
strategies and a cheeky attitude. But most of all, he is admired for his
leadership style with an aim to help create great leaders in any kind of
workplace. Plus, he gave his staff the freedom to be creative. His
organization has no established procedures on how things should be done, and
works on flat and non-hierarchical structure. His staff are given freedom to work without much interference from superiors.Since Richard's Company Virgin is a focused on growth and adaptability to change, the transformational leadership style works best.

Leadership style at ABC pharmaceutical.
ABC is one of the leading pharmaceutical Company and last
ten years there was not significant growth of the performance. There are many
issues have identified such as new products not come to the market, not adapted
to the new process, Organization culture also not in satisfactory level and
staff turnover is very high in the Company. Study has revealed that there is a
gap between performance and leadership. Further gap has analyzed by the
management and leadership has not fit for the company expectation. Since
problem has identified and to overcome those problems better way is Company
needs to adopt the transformational leadership style.
Conclusions
As per the above topic, the analysis reveals that
transformational leadership is the leadership style that is most frequently
discussed. The central theme of Organizational performance, on the other hand,
is based on operational effectiveness and efficiency and the financial
performance of the Organization. Transformational leadership style plays a
significant role in cultivating the culture of innovation in the Organization
and, in turn, Organizations that practice innovative behavior generally exhibit
superior Organizational performance, relative to Organizations that display
less innovative behavior.
